journey into minimalism
i got rid of most of my stuff when i moved to florida for christmas.
initially, it felt like a loss, but it turned out to be beneficial.
i owned many things that weren’t valuable to me:
- photo backdrop
- standing desk
- expensive chair
- yeti microphone
- led ring light
- unused ikea furniture, rugs, and drawers
- unused road bike
- ill-fitting clothes
- unused kitchen appliances
- car
- other forgettable items
i had home-gym equipment because the gym was closed. it took too much space.
the move
i left with just:
- clothes iron
- lav microphone
- seat cushion
- stick vacuum
- 4 pairs of pants
- 7 shirts
- camera
- headphones
- hygiene products
- two mechanical keyboards
- personal and work laptops
everything fit into two suitcases.
i used to buy things for short-term happiness instead of valuing life.
now, i’ll consider the value of things before letting them take up my space and energy.
